Privacy Policy

stillscase (“stillscase”, “we”, “us”) is a personal tool that lets you save links, videos, and text, summarizes them, and makes them searchable — including from AI assistants you choose to connect. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

• Account information. Your email address — used to sign you in (we send one-time codes) and to send essential service messages.
• Content you save. The URLs, files, and text you add, plus what we derive from them: extracted article text or video transcripts, AI-generated summaries, tags, and the folders you create.
• Connections. When you connect an AI assistant or create an API token, we store the connection. For assistant (OAuth) connections we keep a minimal record — your email and an internal user id — with our authentication provider.
• Technical data. Basic logs (IP address, request metadata, timestamps) needed to run and secure the service.
• Cookies. A single signed session cookie to keep you logged in. No advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

How we use your information

• Provide the service: store your saves, generate summaries and transcripts, power search, and sync.
• Let the AI assistants you connect search, read, organize, and add to your saves on your behalf.
• Send sign-in codes and essential service notices.
• Maintain security, prevent abuse, and debug problems.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your saved content to train our own models.

AI processing and service providers

To summarize, transcribe, and search your content, we send it to third-party providers that process it on our behalf (“subprocessors”):

• Anthropic — summarization and generation.
• OpenAI, Groq — audio transcription and processing.
• Voyage AI — text embeddings for semantic search.
• Resend — transactional email (sign-in codes).
• WorkOS — authentication for AI-assistant connections.
• Cloudflare — network delivery and security.

These providers process data under their own terms and only to provide their service to us.

Connecting AI assistants

When you connect an assistant (for example, Claude or ChatGPT), it can search and read the content you’ve saved and add new items — only for your account. Each connection is scoped to you and can be revoked at any time from your AI app’s connector settings, or by removing the connector. We never share one user’s data with another.

Browser extension

If you install the stillscase browser extension, it sends a page’s address to your own stillscase account in two cases: when you explicitly save a page, and to check whether a page you’re viewing is already in your library (so the toolbar icon can show a checkmark). Already-saved checks are answered from your existing saves and are not stored, logged for profiling, or shared; the extension collects nothing else and includes no analytics. It talks only to stillscase.com, authenticated as you.

Storage, security, and retention

Your data is stored on our infrastructure with per-account isolation, so your saves are only accessible to you and the assistants you connect. We keep your content until you delete it or close your account; deleting an item or your account removes it from active systems, with residual copies cleared from backups on a rolling basis.

Your choices and rights

• Access & export. View your saves in the app, or export them with a personal API token.
• Delete. Remove individual saves, or contact us to delete your account and its data.
• Disconnect. Revoke any assistant connection or API token at any time.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (access, correction, deletion, portability). Contact us to exercise them.

Children

stillscase is not directed to children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.

International processing

We and our subprocessors may process data in the United States and other countries. By using stillscase, you understand your information may be processed in these locations.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We’ll revise the “Last updated” date and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify you.
